Chapter 11: Enhancing the contextualisation chapter

Contextualisation Chapter Quality Tool

Contextualisation Chapter Quality Tool

This builds a rich prompt for an external AI (ChatGPT) to give a deep, doctoral-level critique of your contextualisation chapter focused on coverage & coherence and academic register. After you paste your chapter, a fuller prompt will be copied via the button below. The AI will then deliver structured feedback and continue with a Socratic-style dialogue (one question at a time) to help you revise.

ℹ︎

Tip: For cross-session memory, create a Project in ChatGPT (e.g., “My Doctoral Research”) and run all chats inside it. Your project details will then persist across tools.

What the AI will do (Summary)

  • Analyse coverage & coherence: multi-level context (global→national→sector/policy→institution→site/sample), temporal/spatial bounds, policy/regulatory and strategic environment, sectoral landscape and trends, site/participants, data environment (if relevant), conceptual alignment (how context frames RQs, design and theoretical lenses), scope of claims, and signposting.
  • Assess academic register: flag hedging, colloquialisms, over-generalisation, over-personalisation; provide concise, authoritative rewrites.
  • Socratic follow-up: after feedback, continue with a one-question-at-a-time dialogue to help you revise; say “end dialogue” to stop, then the AI will return a brief revised summary of recommendations.
